Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu, the vibrant capital of Sichuan province. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and acclimatize.

Day 2: Pandas & Ancient Engineering

Morning: Panda Valley
- Get up close with China’s most beloved national treasure, the Giant Panda. Watch them munch on bamboo, play, and laze about. This less-crowded reserve offers a more intimate viewing experience, and you might even see adorable panda cubs.
Afternoon: Dujiangyan Irrigation System
- Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, a miraculous feat of ancient engineering built over 2,200 years ago that still functions today. Learn how this system tamed floodwaters and irrigated the fertile Sichuan plains, and walk across the impressive Anlan Bridge.
Evening: Free at your leisure to explore Chengdu.

Day 3: The Grand Buddha & A Charming Ancient Town

Morning: Leshan Giant Buddha
- Be awestruck by the world’s largest stone Buddha statue, carved into a cliff face overlooking the confluence of three rivers. Descend the path next to the 71-meter tall statue to appreciate its immense scale and serene presence.
Afternoon: Suzhou Ancient Town
- Stroll through this well-preserved ancient town, known as a historic “land of plenty.” Wander along old flagstone streets, cross ancient stone bridges over the river, and sample local Sichuan snacks.

Day 4: The Sacred Mount Emei & The Golden Summit

Morning & Afternoon: Mount Emei (Emeishan)
- Journey to one of China’s Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains. Take a cable car up to the Golden Summit (Jinding), where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views (weather permitting) of a sea of clouds and the magnificent Samantabhadra Bodhisattva statue shrouded in mist. Experience the profound spiritual atmosphere of this holy site.

Day 5: Journey to the Colorful Pools of Huanglong

Morning: Take a high-speed train to the Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport area.
Afternoon: Huanglong National Scenic Reserve
- Discover Huanglong’s famous travertine landscape—a series of stunning, colorful calcium carbonate pools terraced down a valley, resembling a golden dragon. Hike along the boardwalks to admire these vibrant, mineral-rich pools set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and ancient forests.

Day 6: The Fairyland of Jiuzhaigou Valley

Full Day: Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park
Spend the day exploring the ethereal beauty of Jiuzhaigou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at its crystal-clear, multi-hued lakes, magnificent waterfalls, and lush forests.
